Family guide

Clarity before commitment.

A family should know who is responsible, how communication works, what technology is needed, and exactly what a cohort asks of a student before accepting a place.

Before an offer

We publish dates, meeting times, time zone, weekly workload, delivery tools, capacity, mentor roster, and named safety contacts.

Before participation

Families review the safety policy, communication channels, recording rules, code of conduct, and data practices.

If details are missing

Do not accept an enrollment offer. Contact both founders and ask for the complete cohort brief.

What a typical week includes

Active work, not passive watching.

Live learning

Scheduled online workshops, questions, and worked examples. Exact frequency is published per cohort.

Independent practice

Problem sets, code, experiments, or project milestones. Workload varies by level and is disclosed before enrollment.

Feedback

Code review, office hours, mock-contest review, or project checkpoints using approved program channels.

Family visibility

Families receive schedule and communication expectations. One-to-one mentorship is scheduled and guardian-informed for minors.

Technology and supervision

What students need.

Technology

Reliable internet, a computer capable of running a browser and code editor, and access to cohort-approved video and communication tools.

Workspace

A reasonably quiet place for live sessions and sufficient local permissions to install or use required development tools.

Supervision

Compute Forward is an educational program, not childcare. A parent or guardian remains responsible for a minor’s general supervision and online access.

Communication

Approved, visible, reportable.

Program messages

Application and cohort operations use official email and announced cohort channels. Mentors must not move minor participants to private personal messaging.

One-to-one support

Sessions are scheduled, purpose-specific, and guardian-informed. Visibility or auditability requirements are set in the cohort brief.

Recordings and images

No recording, screenshot, testimonial, or public student story is used without specific prior consent. Participation does not require publicity consent.

Admissions and privacy

What happens after an application.

Secure receipt

The application is stored in protected backend storage and assigned a reference. It is not written into public website files.

Fit review

A founder reviews level fit and contacts the applicant or guardian. No automated system makes the decision.

Informed choice

The complete cohort brief is shared before the family accepts. Application data can be deleted through a verified request.
